The Basic Home Inspection In the State of Texas, any home inspection perfomed on a residential property involved in a real estate transaction must be performed by a licensed Real Estate Inspector. That inspector is required to adhere to rules as laid out by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC). These rules specify requirements that all Texas home inspectors must meet as well as the minimum inspection guidelines. An inspector may exceed those guidelines, and at 123 Home Inspections, the minimum is never enough. We're constantly reading, studying and learning about the systems, materials and components that we find in homes.
